The performers for the 2009 mtvU Woodie Awards have recently been announced. The show, set to air on December 4th at 10pm EST on MTV, MTV2, mtvU and Palladia, will feature performances from Death Cab for Cutie, Matt & Kim, and The Dead Weather.

Vote for the nominees at woodies.mtv.com until November 16th.

I went to the show last year, and thought the performances were great — the show is filmed a few weeks in advance, so the acts each got to perform a couple of songs that don’t make it onto the television broadcast. Last year we got four headliners (Vampire Weekend, All Time Low, Santigold and Lykke Li) PLUS Asher Roth opening the show, so I hope they add some more to the line up, although, I’m really, ridiculously excited to see The Dead Weather perform, as Horehound has been one of my favorite albums of the year.
